Smithfield Foods
Smithfield Foods, headquartered in Smithfield, VA, uses TabWare OnSite to manage maintenance, stores and purchasing operations at numerous sites across several divisions of the company. With annual sales of $8 billion, Smithfield Foods is the leading processor and marketer of fresh pork and processed meats in the United States, as well as the largest producer of hogs. Smithfield recently became the 5th largest beef producer in the U.S. Smithfield Food's brands include Lykes, Esskay, Gwaltney, John Morrell, Valleydale, Krakus, Kretschmar, Patrick Cudahy, Schneiders and Smithfield. Smithfield uses TabWare to manage maintenance, stores and purchasing operations across their North American operations and selected European locations.

Smithfield selected TabWare as its standard corporate maintenance system in 2001 and is in the process of deploying the software at all of its plants worldwide. TabWare has been interfaced with Oracle Financials at Smithfield. Purchase Orders are generated in TabWare for all maintenance related purchases and invoice matching is performed. Once the invoice has been successfully matched against the purchase order, a voucher record is generated in TabWare and is fed electronically into Oracle for A/P processing.

AssetPoint has provided TabWare implementation, assistance and training to hundreds of Smithfield Packing employees. Smithfield recently upgraded to the latest release of TabWare. All 12 plants are operating TabWare on a single database, which gives Smithfield the ability to easily query the database and generate consolidated reports across all of the plants. AssetPoint has provided on-site implementation and training services for all of the Smithfield Packing plants.

Addtionally, Smithfield Foods has deployed TabWare's Mobile Inventory and Mobile Maintenance modules to reduce time, improve accuracy and performance.

Marzetti

Teresa Marzetti set the tone for the company that bears her name. It all began in 1896 when young Teresa Marzetti arrived in the United States from Florence, Italy, and started her small Italian restaurant in Columbus, Ohio.

Marzetti's became a local favorite especially among Ohio State University students, and grew to become a four star restaurant and one of the finest dining experiences in the Midwest.

Customers particularly enjoyed Teresa's Creamy Coleslaw and French dressings, and were often seen leaving the restaurant with bottles of their freshly made favorites. By 1955, the dressings had become so renowned that the upstairs kitchen of the restaurant became a full-scale factory. Thus the Marzetti brand of salad dressings found its way into grocery stores throughout Ohio.

The passion for quality still lives in Marzetti's many salad dressings and other specialty food products.

Today, as the Specialty Food Group of Lancaster Colony Corporation, Marzetti has plants across the United States that make an expanded family of quality food products. Each reflects Teresa Marzetti's original, handwritten pledge of excellence and "good food".

Marzetti's continues to provide the many quality dressings and specialty food products to millions of consumers and as the company continues its growth, AssetPoint's TabWareEFx will play a major role as the company's EAM/CMMS product of choice for their facilities.
